Make your dreams come true... if I can do it so can you6 February 2019
Make your dreams come true. Because it’s so easy to do that isn’t it Camille, I hear you say! And here’s the thing. I know it’s an easy thing to say and sometimes a difficult thing to do. But I’m living proof that it’s a possibility, and I wanted to share with you how I’ve gone from having a massive wish list to feeling really happy and positive about the way my life is going.
I can help you make your dreams come true...
No I’m not a magician or a charlatan! I can help you do it by telling you about the path I took, but I can’t do it for you. Your dreams are your own to follow and will be different to mine the big thing is to be true to yourself.
My own dream was to have a purposeful career, change lives for the better and travel the world at the same time. Not asking for much eh?! But there’s nothing wrong with aiming high to follow your dreams.
I never wanted the so-called norm. Hey, after everything I went through with my skin growing up there was no way I’d ever settle for an ‘okay’ kind of life. I wanted to challenge myself and see the world. Sometimes facing our fears is the best way to really get the best out of life, it’s tough but it’s worth it. I took a big (a really big!) leap of faith and boy has it paid off!
I’m technically a digital nomad now. PINCH ME! This means me and my team can work from anywhere. But believe me this didn’t come easy. Firstly, I’ve had to put myself out into the world in the most vulnerable way. My eczema has always been and probably still is one of my biggest insecurities. Yet I’ve chosen to create a business to help others with a skin condition.
This has meant showing pictures that break my heart every time I look at them. It makes me so uncomfortable to share these images of my skin at its worst. But it’s been beyond worth it. When I see the lives I’m helping to change, it makes me feel so proud.
As a business owner, I know there are always risks. Will it work? Will people make nasty comments on my posts? But hey, following your dreams isn’t meant to be easy.
And it’s not cheap either! I started off saving for my dream health coaching course. But this turned out to be a great stepping stone to writing my book and developing my own products. I’m now on a mission to spread my message on a global level through speaking events and developing a skincare range for you guys. That initial investment has paid off massively, giving me the tools and confidence to keep my business moving.
Ever heard the phrase ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. Or ‘no guts no glory’. Well, they’re true! To make my dreams come true I had to jump into the unknown. I had to stop caring about what others thought of me my YouTube videos feature every single camera angle!
Every day I’ve had to chase the uncomfortable, working damn hard to live the life of my dreams. But I believe so passionately in my message that it drives me to keep going, knowing I’m helping to change the lives of people who need help and support. Oh, and guess what. I’d rather hustle every day from all corners of the globe that work 9-5 for someone else.
What’s your dream? What can you do today to get you closer to it tomorrow? Remember, we aren’t always supposed to feel comfortable and sometimes facing your fears can lead to realising your dreams. Don’t forget to let me know how you get on @camilleknowles.
Lots of love, Camille xx
